Everything You Need to Succeed
Bat Requirements
Wilson Youth Baseball requires all non-wood bats used in league play to feature the official USA Baseball marking and have a barrel no larger than 2-5/8". Solid wood bats are also permitted.
Look for the USA Baseball mark on the bat before purchasing or bringing it to a game.
USA Baseball Certification
Approved youth non-wood bats that fall under the USABat standard carry a permanent USA Baseball certification mark. USA Baseball maintains information on approved bats.
Choosing a Bat
When choosing a bat, consider your player's age, size, strength, and ability to comfortably control the bat. A properly sized bat should allow the player to maintain control throughout the swing.
Other Equipment
Players should arrive prepared with the equipment appropriate for their division and position. Wilson Youth Baseball requires double-flapped helmets for batters, base runners, and youth bat runners. Catchers must wear full protective equipment during games and bullpen warm-ups.
Helmet
Use a properly fitted, approved batting helmet and inspect it regularly for damage.
Glove & Cleats
Players should have a properly fitted glove and appropriate footwear. Metal spikes are not permitted in Wilson youth baseball.
Catcher's Gear
Catchers must wear full protective equipment, including a helmet/mask with throat protection, chest protector, shin guards, and protective cup.
Not Sure What Your Player Needs?
