Player Safety

Coaches and volunteers play an important role in creating a safe, positive environment for every player.

Weather & Lightning

Player safety comes first when weather conditions become unsafe. Wilson Youth Baseball & Softball follows specific procedures for thunderstorms and lightning.

When thunder is heard or cloud-to-ground lightning is seen, play must be suspended immediately. Players and coaches should seek appropriate shelter and remain there until at least 30 minutes after the last thunder or lightning flash.

Pitching & Arm Safety

Wilson Youth Baseball follows USA Baseball and Major League Baseball's Pitch Smart program, which provides age-appropriate guidelines designed to help coaches, parents, and players manage pitching workloads and reduce the risk of overuse injuries.
